Mountain Biking & Road Cycling
Either take one of our free bicycles and enjoy the undulating countryside surrounding the hotel and the coast or head 20 minutes north and enjoy Europe’s largest oak forest, the Alcornocales.
If you’re more of a serious cyclist then we are ideally located for cycling enthusiasts of all levels. We have partnered with a pro cycling guide to hold cycling breaks every month from October to May every year. Find out more here.
Enjoy wonderful surfing on one of Europe’s top surfing beaches. El Palmar beach is the closest beach to Casa La Siesta and only 10 minutes’ drive away. Contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a class or simply hire equipment. (See a few of our other favourite nearby beaches.)
Bird Watching & Nature
Being one of Europe’s busiest migration routes makes this a must for any bird watching enthusiasts. Stephen Daly at Andalucian Guides offers day tours and birding tours for novices and experienced ‘birders’. Contact Stephen directly for more information.
Horse riding: we can recommend some wonderful horse back excursions. One highlight is a beach ride at Cape Trafalgar.
Whale watching in the straits of Gibraltar: a must-see for guests visiting in August and September to see the famous Orcas.
The Montenmedio golf course (6.260 meters, 18 holes and par 72) is different from all other Spanish courses. Not a single building affects its fairways and greens. It is surrounded by forests of wild olive, cork oak and pine trees and has impressive views of the Atlantic and to Vejer de la Frontera, just a 5 minute drive away. Other courses in the area include Fairplay Benalup, Novo Sancti Petro and many others (Montecastillo, Villanueva, El Puerto, Sherry Golf) are within easy range for a weeks worth of great sport.
