A personalised interior design service, led by founder Lee Thornley.

As a result of Lee’s painstaking work on the interior and exterior of Casa la Siesta hotel, Lee discovered a natural talent for sourcing reclaimed materials, rare antique fittings and interior design.

Casa La Siesta interiors

Many guests began asking who designed the interior and how they would love to emulate the style of Casa la Siesta in their own home or project. From this, Lee launched Bert & May in 2013 as a reclaimed and handmade tile business and since then it has grown and evolved into a wider interior design service.

Lee now divides his time between Spain and the UK and offers in-person and online consultations as well as house visits for specialist projects. Lee also offers a bespoke sourcing service for reclaimed tiles and materials.

What we offer

We work internationally. We provide a comprehensive, full-service design journey: from the spark of initial concept sketches to crafting mood boards and delivering personalised recommendations.

We can advise on use of space & layout, flooring and cladding, interior hardware, paint colours & wallpaper options/styling & dressing. Also, general interior design guidance.
